The double has been released. BT customers note > By upgrading, you're agreeing to start a new contract with us: depending on what contract you're on at the moment, it'll either be for 12 or 18 months.

We’re making BT Infinity even faster – at no extra cost!

We’re turning up the speed dial in the broadband battle with speed increases for BT customers at no extra cost. If you sign up to BT Infinity 2 from tomorrow (April 12) you’ll benefit from downstream speeds that are roughly double those on offer today – up to 76Mbps rather than up to 38Mbps. We’re also giving our BT Infinity 1 product a boost by increasing its upstream speed fivefold from up to 1.9Mbps to up to 9.5Mbps.

The speed increases mean we’re helping to achieve the government’s ambition for the UK to have the best super-fast broadband network in Europe by 2015. The high upstream speeds will also be great news to anyone who wants to upload photos, video, graphics or other rich content. From April 12, if you buy a new BT Infinity package, or switch to BT Infinity from another package, you’ll automatically benefit from these higher speeds. If you’re already a BT Infinity customer, you can switch to the faster products by starting a new contract, at no extra cost. BT Infinity is currently available to more than seven million premises across the UK. That figure will rise to ten million in 2012 and then to around two thirds of all UK premises by the end of 2014. BT Group is currently bidding for BDUK funds which could extend the availability of fibre broadband to more than 90 per cent of UK homes and businesses.

The new BT Infinity speeds
BT Infinity 2 downstream speeds roughly double to up to 76Mbps
BT Infinity 2 offers UK’s fastest upstream speeds of up to 19Mbps
BT Infinity 1 upstream speeds to be up to five times faster than before

Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro Now Available
21 April, 2012 03:27:00
http://www.skyuser.co.uk/skyinfo/sky_br ... e_pro.html

We posted this rumour a few hours ago, and it has since been confirmed by several known Sky staff via PM / email etc.

There is a new Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre product, called Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro, now available from Sky.

The Rumours inbound were;
Connection speeds of upto 80/20
£30 per month

However since then, we have received the following confirmation, (from a known Sky staff member) that this is actually available now.

This is not a rumour. When using the availability checker, it is now available to some customers and will be priced at £30pm.

up to 80MB download speed and up to 20MB upload speed

If you want to see if Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro is available for you, please check the official Sky website. Sky Broadband Order Page.

You can discuss this in our forums, Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro about to be launched?

Update: The product may be known as Sky Fibre Pro and not Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro as we previously reported. It hasnt yet been confirmed whether or not there will be a download limit on the package but our source imagines that it would be unlimited.

Forgot about this thread

For those of you on Sky fibre with the 2meg upload... power down your Sky router then power back up. Your upload will, should then be set for 10meg up

log into your routers web interface and check the connection stats, sync rate. It should say...

Modem Status Connected
UpStream Connection Speed 10000 kbps

If that fails power down the modem and router then power up again.
