So who we all voting for then? I can't say I'm exactly an expert on these things, far from it, but I like to keep some sort of update. From what I've seen I'm liking Lib Dems so far, Nick Cleggs not much better than Cameron in his approach but at least he's less of a toff. Vince Cable came across well aswell. Labour and Tories just get on my tits with all their bitching with eachother.

This is quite good for looking at policies.

The "Douche and Turd" episode of South Park comes to mind. We've only realistically got two to choose between, Labour haven't exactly covered themselves in glory over the past few years and Cameron is a slimey git. I'll watch the televised debates with interest.

Would hate it if the conservatives got into power, but Labour arent too hot either. I dont really care, I dont get to vote for the PM even though he controls what happens in NI

It will be my first time voting and I haven't really decided yet. Conservatives look the least likely but it's pretty close between Labour and Lib Dems. I've started watching more political programmes like Question Time and generally I've always thought the Lib Dems have come across well. There's the eternal argument that it's a wasted vote as they don't have a realistic chance but that in itself is a self-fulfiling prophecy. Anyone else decided yet?

Am changing a vote of a lifetime and sayign not the tories cause they generally fuck over the civil service and try to deregulate industry too much which means they can get away, quite literally, with murder.

I generally don't vote. Mainly because I've yet to find a party worth voting for, also partially because I am one of those people who really believe that the 'First past the post' electoral system is out-dated and needs changing. I have a distinct lack of faith when it comes to British politics. I'd really like the option to vote for none of the above on the ballot form.

I guess I'm more a Lib-Dem kinda guy at heart, the only trouble with this is that the LIB-Dems can pretty much say whatever they want and promise the Earth as they'll never have to actually deliver it. Would they actually be a viable alternative to Labour or the Conservatives?

It's quite worrying when you look at all three of the candidates for running the country and think that none of them inspire confidence of a better future for Britain. There's not even a real defined difference between any of the parties anymore. It makes me feel like no matter who you vote for, you are essentially electing in the same man with a different coloured tie.

Maybe I'll vote Green in the end. But more than likely I will be another one of the population who's become so apathetic towards the whole thing that I'll not vote. If only Charlie Brooker were in the running....

I have a healthy interest in politics, but an apathy towards politicians. Saying that my mate works for an MP and through that I have met a few local councilors etc and they are decent people. I think the problem is we only hear the shady one's in the press.

In the election I'll vote for the residents association in the local elections, I'm still making up my mind on the national.

I think a change is needed and Labour needs to go which I guess means I'm looking for a Tory victory, however I'm not sure I can bring myself to actually vote for them.

I do agree that the elctoral system needs updating, and would like a 'none of the above' option, however remember you do have the option to spoil your paper.

As far as alternatives go, I don't agree with proportional representation, I think in theory its a great idea but in practice it just wouldn't work.

I'd like to see a system where each 'seat' represents the same amount of people, although the logistics of this are brain melting.

From the outside looking in it is a tough choice for you guys. It would appear, like Adam said, that a Labour need ousting for any change to occur. I don't envy the Tory choice, with the years of sleaze that accompanied the last Tory government.

Stupid question here, but what exactly does that mean Adam?

You can mark an X across the voting slip and it will be counted as a spoiled vote, meaning that your vote still gets counted.

Go to the polling station, sign in etc, go into the booth, scribble over the paper, put it in the ballot box.

Spoiled papers are counted I believe.

OK I get it. Think I'd rather the none of the above option though, at least then I can clearly tell that I have no faith in any of them.

So what if there were a really high number of spoilt votes in the election? Would everybody have to vote again then?

No, in the highly unlikely event that 'spoiled' papers got more votes than anyone else, whoever came second to the spoiled papers would win power.

The thought of that happening actually made me laugh out loud.

Anyway, I'm voting for the monster raving loony party, some of their proposals include;

Cool on the outside:

To combat global warming and climate change all buildings should be fitted with air conditioning units on the outside.

GCSE Lottery:
It is proposed that, before the beginning of exams, the exam board will select a certain obscure phrase which will be kept secret. If any pupil inadvertently writes this phrase in any exam,he/she will automaticaly receive straight A* grades, and a free teddy.

Put a Sock in it
All socks to be sold in packs of 3 as a precaution against losing one.

:) Some good ideas there, I think it was the 2001 GE where one of their policies was that no one south of Watford is allowed to support Man Utd.
