Not just guitar based bands.
Listen to Tomorrow Never Knows or Strawberry Fields, and tell me that bands like the Chemical Brothers have never ripped that off.
It wouldn't surprise me, the Chems have 'previous' on that score. Next time anyone listens to
'Block Rockin' Beats', check out a track called
'Coup', by a late 70's/early 80's band named
23 Skidoo. The Chems never credited 23 Skidoo, and basically ripped the intro to Block Rockin' Beats.

I hate System of the Down.
Very much a 'marmite' band, can easily see why they don't appeal to some people. I love the fact they are so off-the-wall though, nothing I've ever heard comes close to the style that SOAD have created. Unique band in an age where innovation is rare.
I do defy anyone, however, not to listen to
Cigaro for the second time and smile. (the first time being a state of bewilderment at the 2mins 50secs of musical carnage that has just ensued).
One thing which has annoyed my about this band, though, is the increasing use of Daron Malakian as lead vocalist. Or, to those not familar with names, the really weak, shrill and tinny one. Works well on a couple of tunes, such as
Lost In Hollywood, but he doesn't have the voice to be a lead vocalist, just shouldn't happen. Particularly when you have the incredible vocal talents of Serj Tankian; power and control.

Danzig's Twist of Cane
I have a few bits and pieces from Danzig,
Serpentia is such a great tune.

As for me lately:
System Of A Down - Hypnotize. The full album, not the song. Had a load of trouble playing this on my pc and didn't get a chance to listen to it for over a year. But its been on repeat on my portable for the past few days.
