Struggled at first with this years game, but eventually settled with West Ham after starting unemployed and going on holiday until November.

Was set the objective to stay clear of relegation, West Ham were 17th mid way through December when I took over. My start was unspectacular. Won my first league game but then failed to win any of my next 7. Although in that time I did knock Chelsea out of the FA Cup, Liverpool out of the League Cup and actually reach the final the League Cup.

My form in the league dramatically turned a corner, picking up 23/33 points in the last 11 games. I won the League Cup, reached the final of the FA Cup (Knocking Arsenal out in the Semi-Final losing to Man Utd in the Final). Among some great results in the league were; Beating Chelsea 2-1 at home, Arsenal 4-3 away and Man City 4-2 at home.

David Gold decides to retire mid-June, stays to oversee a takeover. The club get taken over. I get sacked about two weeks later. Never have I been so furious in all my FM playing days.

51% win too! RAGING :headbang:

I have also struggled to get going with this version.

The layout changes make everything seem three clicks further away than it used to be, and with the match engine not seeming as slick as FM17 (and what the hell have they done to camera angles) it has been a frustration.

I started as Osmanlispor in Turkey and was just getting going. However, my PC blew up in such spectacular fashion this morning that I jumped nearly three foot off my chair, and that will curtail any further involvement for a little while.

Well I ended up at West Brom in the December. The tactics are a real Rubik's cube this year. Was genuinely struggling to shoot let alone score at one point.

Finally managed to put something together that worked at Arsenal and it also involved two up top. Totally unorthodox formation.

-----Koscielny - Mustafi

Bellerin - Ramsey - Kolasinac

------AMN - Ozil - Iwobi

-----Lacazette - PEA

No early window but I did strengthen in January. Sold both keepers, Monreal, Xhaka, Elneny and Miki.

Donnarumma, Ward (Liverpool), Meunier, Digne, Serri and Maximilliano Gomez came in.

Squad looked like this by the end.

GK: Donnarumma, Ward

CB: Koscielny / Chambers
CB: Mustafi / Holding
DM: Ramsey / Serri
RWB: Bellerin / Meunier
LWB: Digne / Kolasinic

RW: Maitland-Niles / Nelson (Recalled Jan) / Willock (had quite a bit of game time)
AM: Ozil / Wilshere
LW: Iwobi / Welbeck

ST: Lacazette / Gomez
ST: PEA / Nkietah (recalled Jan)

Won the league, 91 points 99 Goals. Won the Europa League too but had quite an easy route if I'm honest. No big teams at all aside from Galatasary in the Semi and Ajax in the final (won on pens). Chelsea knocked me out of the League Cup semi finals and FA Cup as well as beating me in the Shield. Deffo my bogey team.

PEA had the highest AV.R (7.51) 35 goals in 44 games + 13 assists.
Lacazette scored 42 goals in 54 games + 14 assists.
Welbeck scored 24 + 14 assists in 50 games.
AMN 7.17 AV.R 4 goals 11 assists in 33 games
Nelson 9 goals 5 assists in 23 games.

Likely to offload Ozil in the summer, 350k pw isn't just. Need to sell to buy now as I splashed £70m on Varane. So see where it goes.

Just amazed I've found a set up to accomodate 2 strikers that has worked!
