Find it hard to fathom how Madrid spent so much on Huntelaar only to use him as a sub and stick to a super-slow forward line of Raul and Higuan (I know Huntelaar is also slow), and now he has been given a chance he has scored 8 in 6 games. Real Madrid won 2-0 to keep Barca's lead at 6 points.

Another walk in the park for Barcelona. At least that's good for Platini as they'll take some stopping in the champions league on the form they've had this season. And to think that Eto was touted around to any takers in the summer!

He is like a Pro Evolution Soccer fantasy that turned real. If somebody did that on PES I'd say that it is impossible to do in reality, and Messi pulls off stuff like this on a regular basis. Stunning.

I am really looking forward to meet him in the final. 8-)

You gunning for a call up? Rather you than me, I wouldn't fancy trying to defend against that... Cheers Albo.

Check out this tackle and subsequent kicking by Real Madrid's Pepe in their 3-2 win over Getafe at the weekend. I've heard he'll be suspended for the rest of the season but can not of yet find an article to back it up. Given the violence he has shown here, he certainly deserves it.

Apparently he's an Xbox geek.

That might be why he's so good, he must view defenders as pologonal shaped droids.

Yeah saw this in the news.. horrible horrible behaviour!
He should be fined and banned for next season as well, let his career rot..

a pity that madrid went on to win the game.. :headbang:

I think you're overreacting. From what I've read Pepe has shown no previous history of violence in the game. He was clearly just frustrated by what was a horrendous dive. That doesn't excuse his actions because of course he has to be punished. He himself has in a remorseful reponse acknowledged the need for punishment and has even suggested he may not play football again.

Sure, he should be punished but personally I believe no more than a three match ban and a fine by both club and the Spanish FA. Calls for him to be banned next season and to let his career rot are ludicrous, really.

It was a single act of frustration, the sort of thing any player can be guilty of. The dive after all was rather bad.

Ok, i may have overreacted by saying he should let his career rot but no matter if Pepe has previous violent acts before, he kicked out not once but twice. It only takes a criminal to act once to be sentenced for life. Ok, that's an extreme example but you get what i mean.

Pepe: I may retire now
by Laurent Picard , 23 April 2009

http://www.setanta.com/uk/Articles/Football/2009/04/23/Liga-Pepes-confession/gnid-49879/

Real Madrid defender Pepe has hinted that he could hang up his boots at the age of 26, following his moment of madness against Getafe. The defender kicked Francisco Casquero’s back while the midfielder was on the ground and then punched Albin after being sent off at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

The Brazil-born Portugal international then returned to the pitch to celebrate his side’s winning goal when he was supposed to watch the end of the game in the dressing room. Pepe is facing a long suspension, possibly up to six games, which means that he will miss the highly anticipated Spanish league Classico with Barcelona.

The former Porto star admits that he lost his mind and he has revealed that he will think of quitting the game if he does not find the energy to bounce back. “These are the worst days of my life,” Pepe told Marca. “I watched replays and did not recognise myself. It was not me. I went crazy, lost the control for a few minutes. “The worst moment is what I am living right now. "I do not want to play football again and, if I see that I cannot play football anymore, I will dedicate my life to something else.”

Disgraceful from Pepe, Allardyce would welcome him with open arms at Blackburn. Just his sort of player.
