Wilshere, Cazorla, Giroud, Walcott to be left on the bench.

The back four should be the same as what we intend to play against Bayern.

In midfield, I would bring in Rosicky and Coquelin if fit and play either Ramsey/Diaby. On the wings would be Ox and Gervinho (who I think has had his 5 days off). Podolski to lead the line up top, given that he didn't feature against Sunderland.

We shouldn't get to bogged down in resting players here for Bayern, in reality this (along with the FA Cup) is a much winnable game and much winnable competition.

----------- Szczesny
Sagna Koscielny Mertasacker Monreal
---- Arteta -- Diaby -- Ramsey
Chamberlain -- Walcott -- Podolski

Subs: Mannone, Miquel, Coquelin, Rosicky, Gervinho, Cazorla, Giroud.

We should be able to beat Blackburn even without our best XI. I'm curious to see what our defensive formation will be for the next two games.

Jenkinsons sending off was ill timed considering he would definately have started this game. Although i agree there is more chance of us winning the cup than the champions league. Still think this offers the chance for wilshere amongst others to get s rest (thanks v much for playing him the full match in the meaningless friendly)

No need to go overboard resting personnel, I'd rather see consistency and fluidity. That said, I would take both Wilshere and Cazorla out of the firing line, and possibly Walcott if there is even the slightest concern over his fitness. With us essentially having no recognised leftback against Bayern, this is also an opportunity to safeguard Sagna.

Szczesny

Coquelin
Mertesacker
Koscielny
Monreal

Diaby
Arteta
Ramsey

Podolski
Giroud
Chamberlain

LG, who do you see Wenger playing LB against Bayern? Vermaelen? He's supposed to be taking painkiller injections before every game in order to defer his required surgery until summer.

Purely for the Blackburn game, Monreal at LB makes sense, but my point was that we should try to play the defense that plays against Bayern in the Blackburn game to at least develop some basic level or understanding/expectation. Otherwise it's going to be rabbit-in-the-headlights time like in the 4-0 mauling last time at Milan.

I think we have no other option than Vermaelen, except Coquelin. But I doubt Wenger would even consider that if the Belgian is remotely fit.

I'd certainly be tempted to go with a team very similar to LG's side though I'd definitely want to include Rosicky in the starting line-up. I feel it's important that we give him a start and get him minutes on the pitch as he's had nowhere near enough so far this season and if we're to utilise him when we really need to then he needs to be as sharp as possible. He adds a dynamic presence in that midfield, would like him to line up with Diaby and Ramsey. The Ox should start also, another player who perhaps needs a few more minutes and an opportunity to gain some form before the huge test against Bayern.

I wonder if Gervinho will be taking part in this match? I could see Wenger putting him in at CF, though I hope he sticks with Giroud. Would be interesting to see if Gervinho can carry some of his ACN form into his Arsenal shirt though. Admittedly I don't want to see too many changes to the side however as this cup is important and we shouldn't limit our chances of a trip to Wembley.

I'm off in a minute and haven't got the foggiest idea what sort of team we could be playing.

I've read that Bellerin might play at right back today and I'd really like to get a look at him, other than that hopefully the Ox will get a full game and wouldnt mind seeing Coquelin play in the middle.

Hopefully it's a goal fest today as recent games against Blackburn have been. Probably be goalless now! :)

Looking forward to this, will be interesting to see what team we put out.

We can't go into it thinking we're going to win, we need to press them from the off and make them panic on the ball as they won't have the quality to pass it around.

Decent line up, glad to see Rosicky start and I think that midfield trio could do well, although they may all be slightly rusty.

That's my only fear as well. The bench is pretty packed in case there are any hiccups

Keep an eye out for Jason Lowe in their midfield, only 21 but is a very impressive player and is sure to attract in the summer if Blackburn fail to go up. Is the type of midfielder who ours don't like to play against, he'll front up and be a real nuiscance but has the quality to match.
