Bayern München v Arsenal
Wednesday 15th February 2017
Kick-off: 19.45 UK
To be played at Allianz Arena, Germany

Ospina confirmed to start which I am fine with.

Xhaka will probably also come back.

Anyone fancy guessing who else will play?

Set up not to concede and try to stay in the tie, I suggest. An away goal would be great but something not even Barca could manage last night.

Their 4-0 defeat to PSG makes our group results against them look fantastic!

I have a lot of confidence in this tie. Really hope this year is the chance to go through.

I would like to see us change formation with a midfield without a number 10.

-------------Ospina---------

Bellerin--Mustafi--Koscielny--Monreal

-------------Coquelin------------------
---------Chamberlain----Xhaka-------

Walcott-----Sanchez------Ozil--------

I think Coquelin is a mistake and keeping Iwobi and dropping Walcott I don't get. I'd have kept Walcott and brought in Welbeck. Sit deep and hit them with pace on the break.

Bayern 1-0 Arsenal

Coquelin is a moron. An absolute moron.

There are people in undiscovered parts of the universe that will know what Arjen Robben will do when playing on the right. And then there is Francis Coquelin. And there is Coquelin rolling out the red carpet for Robben to cut inside and shoot on his left foot.

1-1 Sanchez scores after missing a penalty.

Out of the blue, for 20+ minutes it was all Bayern.

Considering the team bus only arrived at the Allianz 25mins after kickoff, that was a decent half all things considered.

I'd trust Sanchez with my life on a clutch penalty, but on a regular effort he may as well just pass the ball to the keeper.

After a dire start, I think I'm happy with both the performance and the result at half time.

Coquelin was an idiot to let Robben shoot, but it was also a dream shot, and as time went on we transitioned from "sit back and let them do whatever" to "sit back, stay tight and don't give clear chances" - and we also started to actually counter-attack, after an early period when we couldn't pass to anybody and Alexis couldn't hold up the ball either.

Should even be 1-2 up between the Xhaka volley and the Ozil narrow angle chance.

The issue is whether Bayern will adjust their tactics, and if so, whether we can actually respond. They will know that Xhaka-Coquelin midfield is very vulnerable to smart use of space, they'll have seen how Gibbs and Iwobi down the left tend to sit back a lot while Bellerin and Ox will get closer to you.

The joke is that we don't actually have a great pen taker on the pitch - Alexis is most certainly not one, just as Ozil isn't. That he managed to finish it off is due to luck as well as his perseverance.

3-1 Bayern.

Koscielny off the pitch with an injury.

Floodgates are open now.

4-1. 62 minutes.

The defence are all over the place with no leadership. Koscielny goes off and they have completely capitulated. This could be a very painful watch.

And to add insult to injury, Walcott is now about to come on.

What a useless crock of shit team.

Why did I pay to go watch the other leg?

Can't defend, can't tackle, can't take up the right position, but apparently Xhaka's learnt how to kill people without getting sent off and Gibbs has learnt the Henry handball trick.

And Ozil, I say as his greatest fan, what's the point of a slim playmaker who can't even receive a pass?

Steadying ship here and making it 4-2 would be an acceptable result for the away leg, but we know they don't have the ability. These guys just aren't good enough.

5-1.

I really don't know what to say. Yes it's Bayern but for fuck sakes we're so far behind the top teams in Europe it's embarrassing. I just think it's time for Wenger to step aside. He's been a legend but he can't take this club any further. I just hope he acknowledges that himself. I'm not bothered about top 4 anymore. What's the point!!

Ox, you moron.

Last time we saw that Flamini was having a bad day.

And then he goes bonkers and yells at everyone for not pressing! You're not Alexis, you were halfway decent then just turned yourself into a net negative.
