0-0 at HT

Did not create anything of note really, Giroud had a decent chance after some good tenacious work from Willock. We are kinda lucky not to be behind, Macey made a very good save when they created a chance from a corner. Also they have been able to get in behind us on a handful of occasions.

Walcott has been closed down every time he gets the ball. Wilshire gets on the ball some, but as he cuts inside all the time there is really no one playing on the left. We get squeezed in the middle and don't look very dangerous.

The defending 3 has probably been our best players so far, but the wing backs doesn't offer much in either direction of the play. Reiss Nelson tries, but is hindered by Walcott's ability to make the right decision at every moment.
Have to say that Coq and Willock doesn't offer much protection in the middle of the park, and generally we look a bit disinterested.

60 min:
2 penalty shouts in 2 minutes.
First Wilshire goes down easily after a knock-back from Giroud. Probably right call.

Then Wilshire tries to find Giroud from the byline, the ball is cut out by a defender and it hits his hand then he is on the ground. Could have been given.

Ref was right on top of both situations.

65 min: Wilshire with a chip over the keeper, cleared off the line by Le Tallec :headbang:

0-0 FT

Pretty toothless to be honest, we had a good periode in the start of the second half, but nothing came of it. Eddie came on for Willock after 68 minutes, and Wilshire dropped down to central midfield. Was more involved there, but the movement in the last 3rd was lacking in the whole match. Walcott did his best impression of a headless chicken, and Giroud just looked disinterested.

The defense looked ok I guess considering it was made up of a midfielder, a man who has played 3 matches in 1 year and Holding. Boyake got in on goal 2 times in the match, but thank god he can't shoot.

On a positive note, we are not qualified for the next round :nana:
