:nana: Winning at Wembley over and over, and over Chelsea never gets old.
FT Arsenal 1 Chelsea 1 4-1 win on penalties

Basically the final preseason warm up, but we looked solid for a good start to the upcoming season. Neither team fielded what would be full strength first choice squads, but Chelsea had their full first choice defense.

Holding was quite good again seeming very comfortable at Wembley. Xhaka had some good distribution including the set piece that led to our goal. Elneny was for the most part neat and tidy, nearly scoring on a miss hit cross that bent the wrong way, but he really lacks any incisive passing showing why Wenger seldom uses him if another choice is available. Lacazette looked decent the first half hitting the post, but faded second half before being replaced. Iwobi followed similarly. Chamberlain wasn't as good as the left sided wingback cutting inside a little too often, looked much more dangerous the few times he looked to go past people.

Star of the show had to be Kolasinac who came on for Mertesacker having had a large cut opened above his eye. The guy is just a beast, he looked bigger than anyone on the pitch in central defense and to think he is really a leftback and wingback. Looked to get forward on a few different attacking moves. He will not have any trouble adjusting physically to the league. Loved the freekick awarded to Chelsea when when Pedro ran into Kolasinac and bounced off! Of course he scored our goal to level it from the set play resulting from Pedro's attempt to do Elneney's Achilles from behind. The announcers tried to say it was only a yellow, but does anyone believe that had it been Xhaka it would not have been a red, so happy with that. Thought the ref had quite a good game, also booking Willian for simulation.

As for Chelsea's goal we went to sleep a little, but you have to give credit to Moses as he made a great run to get free and the ball bounced right to him.

Loved the penalties. I knew we were going to win as soon as Theo hit his, it was just a fantastic penalty. This AB BA alternating thing seems like it actually takes pressure off, unless you are Chelsea.

Happy Times
