Very impressed with jet. Every potent attack was created by him.

Interesting game tonight, a lot of players who I hadn't seen a lot of before. After a slow start Nordtveit started to look very good at rightback, especially the second half. Surprisingly fast and a very good passer for (supposedly) a centre back. He combined well with Walcott and Emmanuel-Thomas. The latter had a very good game as well, great close control.

Hopefully we'll see more of rosicky or nasri next to song and fabregas in a midfield three, though nasri would have to play a bit deeper then he did today. They both played well.

The match did highlight the worries most fans have (myself included): cover for Song (both Eastmond and Frimpong are a bit green) and the centreback situation. Both Koscielny and Djourou were average, but both have excuses I guess, Koscielny being new to the team and Djourou coming back from his injury.

I was also waiting for a chance to see Szczesny play, but he hardly had something to do.

A nothing game but a few points to highlight.

- Jay Thomas showed Chamakh how to be the target man and Walcott on how to beat fullbacks. Constantly glued the ball to his feet and showed a lot of movement with and without the ball. Will be interesting to see how much he can contribute this season.
- Thought Nordtveit was the best defender all game and surprised to see him playing well in an unfamiliar role after mostly unsuccessful loans.
- Nasri and Rosicky showed how they can influence a game from the middle and it'll be interesting to see if they are eventually played there instead of the likes of Diaby/Denilson.
- Our GK jerseys are very much a distraction, hopefully for the oppositions.

Two friendlies and we've already showed off the performance of our entire Arsenal season last year: good dominating possession football in one, disjointed can't-defend-for-sausage torpor in the other. Nasri did well but as a whole, well, the entire team can't transform in the space of 2 months, I guess.

Arsenal TV Online have the boss's post match interview on the main site. He discusses the absence of Denilson and the possibility of replacing Eduardo as well as the progress report on signing another defender.
I don't have access and was just wondering if someone on here could let us know what he had to say.

On pre-Season so far: Nobody stands completey out yet, trying to master the way we play and the first two games have given us confidence.

On Nasri:
He's in a good shape already, and very motivated because he didnt go to the World Cup. It's an advantage not going to world cup for players like Walcott and Nasri because they're highly motivated and physically easier.

On Eduardo: Sad to see Eduardo leave, but he's 28 and needs to play first team football and we have lots of options. We won't sign another striker.

On injuries: Denilson and Bendtner not big injuries, but not in full training yet so a couple of weeks behind. Both groin injuries.

On the players not involved:
World cup players are a week behind but will be inolved in next game.

On new signings: No news on any defenders yet, but we are still looking, and the Campbell situation is still yet unsolved.

Does anyone know where 19-year-old centre-back Kyle Bartley is and why he hasn't featured in Austria?

I read somewhere (probably the younggunsblog) that he has a minor shoulder injury.
